Does a lamp rated 111-240V work in a US outlet?
The plug is the pins; the rating is what the lamp runs on. What both mean for a US outlet, and what we do not promise.
A lamp is meant to be set down and switched on. The plug and the rating decide whether that happens on the first evening.
Step into Beacon. Be held by the atmosphere first, then find yourself in it.
The short answer. Two things have to match your wall: the plug and the voltage rating. US orders ship with a US plug, and the Globe Shuttle Sconce is rated 111-240V, so the 120V of a US outlet sits inside that range.

What a US outlet supplies
The U.S. Department of Energy puts household supply in the United States at 110-120V and 60 Hz (energy.gov, Electricity 101). Our rating, 111-240V, includes 120V.
The plug and the rating are two different things
The plug is the pins. The rating is the supply the lamp is built to run on. A plug changes how the lamp meets your wall; it does not change the rating.
Each lamp page lists its own rating, so read the number on the page, not a general rule.
What we do for every order
- A US plug. US orders ship with a US plug.
- We tell the workshop where it is going. The country goes to the workshop before the lamp ships.
- You see it before it ships. We film every order. It ships only after you say yes.
What it is not
- Not a safety listing. The sconce is not UL- or ETL-listed.
- Not a promise outside the United States. If you are outside the US, message us before you order.
- Not an adapter. An adapter changes the pins only. It does not change what the lamp is rated for.
